b.May 21, 1471, Imperial Free City of Nernberg [Germany] d.April 6, 1528, Nernberg Albrecht Durer (May 21, 1471 ?C April 6, 1528) was a German painter, printmaker and theorist from Nuremberg. His still-famous works include the Apocalypse woodcuts, Knight, Death, and the Devil (1513), Saint Jerome in his Study (1514) and Melencolia I (1514), which has been the subject of extensive analysis and interpretation. His watercolours mark him as one of the first European landscape artists, while his ambitious woodcuts revolutionized the potential of that medium. D??rer introduction of classical motifs into Northern art, through his knowledge of Italian artists and German humanists, have secured his reputation as one of the most important figures of the Northern Renaissance. This is reinforced by his theoretical treatise which involve principles of mathematics, perspective and ideal proportions. British/American, 1812-1867, American painter. He was one of the first generation of American genre painters. His earliest datable work includes two lithographs of urban views and images of birds and animals published in New York between 1830 and 1835. He studied at the National Academy of Design, New York, and exhibited there periodically between 1834 and 1852. The first genre painting he exhibited at the National Academy was Militia Training (1841; Philadelphia, PA Acad. F.A.), although another example, In the Woodshed (1838; Boston, MA, Mus. F.A.), predates it. He also exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (1845 and 1847) and at the Apollo Association and American Art-Union (1841-50).

Carl Petter Dahlström, född ca 1705, död 4 mars 1794, var en svensk möbelsnickare. Dahlström gesällvandrade 1745?C1755 i Nordeuropa och Frankrike, där han i Paris kom i lära hos den tidens främste ebenist Jean-François Oeben. Hos denne lärde sig Dahlström faneringstekniken marqueterie ?? fleurs eller blomsterintarsia, som var en metod för att möta rokokons krav på fanering av dubbelvälvda kroppar. Mycket tack vare rekommendationer av C.J. Cronstedt blev Dahlström efter hemkomsten till Sverige utnämnd till kunglig ebenist den 19 november 1756. Han finns representerad på Nationalmuseum med en byrå som han tillverkade tillsammans med Lorentz Nordin. Dahlström överlämnade 1769 sina privilegier till Niclas Palmgren och ägnade sig därefter åt restaurangverksamhet.
Francesco Giuseppe Casanova
(1727-1803) was an Italian painter and a younger brother of Giacomo Casanova. Francesco Casanova Battaglia di cavalleria (oil on canvas, Louvre, Paris)Born in London, he trained in Venice under Francesco Guardi, then was a pupil of Francesco Simonini, a battle painter who took Borgognone as his model. Besides battle-pieces Casanova painted landscapes with figures and cattle, as well as pastoral subjects. He arrived in Paris in 1751, and went to Dresden in the following year, where he remained until 1757, spending his time in copying the finest battle-pieces of the famous Electoral Gallery. On his return to Paris he studied for a time under Charles Parrocel, and was received into the Academy in 1763. He exhibited at the Salon at intervals from that year till 1783, when he again quit France, going to Vienna, where he resided during the remainder of his life. Philip James de Loutherbourg was his pupil for a time.
